Grade Five and sixth Grade Creative Dramatic Syllabus
Week One: Rules, Procedures, Expectations, and with movement theater games teaching following directions, listening, taking turns, and talking / 5th grade -Juggling scarves 6th grade - juggling bowling pins, rings, etc Week Two: Rules, Procedures, how to Greet, make Introductions, and Presenting Projects, with theater games teaching creativity /5th grade -Juggling scarves 6th grade - juggling bowling pins, rings, etc * Performance Week Three: Rules, Procedures, Reading Expression (Speed, Fluency, and Expression/ 5th grade- puppetry 6th grade - miming Week Four: Rules, Procedures, Reading Expression (Speed, Fluency, and Expression/ 5th grade- puppetry 6th grade - miming * Performance Week Five: 5th grade Voice Projection, Reader’s Theater, theater games teaching how to read script, and costuming 6th grade Voice Projection, using appropriate staging techniques, and use vocal and physical characterizations. Week Six: 5th grade Voice Projection, Reader’s Theater, theater games teaching how to read script, and costuming 6th grade Voice Projection, using appropriate staging techniques, and use vocal and physical characterizations. * Performance Week Seven: Social Studies Preview to introduction time in history the mini productions is based around. Students conduct a mini research, and create a picture splash of information discovered. Week Eight: Discuss and read over script, audition. and roles are assigned at weeks endeek Nine: Show in Rehearsal…personal props added, Week Ten: Show rehearsal …. Keyboard, lights, props, video tapping (practice) and costumes Week Eleven: Show Rehearsal … Keyboard, lights, props, costume, and video tapping Director notes are given at the end of each rehearsal Week Twelve: Perform … Evaluate Performance …Celebrate ** During production week, show will run during the regular class schedule ** Parents and Family members will be invited to attend production |
